The Troops Are Going in Again – Why?

I am becoming increasingly uncomfortable when I hear news that the Islamic State is tightening its grip in the Middle East and that, whilst coalition air-strikes are slowing their progress, what we need is troops on the ground. Really? The only way to stop mad, fanatical psychopaths with no value for life is to send more young soldiers to confront them on the ground, and die. Air power is not enough. Now go and tell that to the people of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

And that was 70-years ago. Imagine the progress that has been made in terms of accuracy and effectiveness since then. Oh, of course. The flaw in my plan is the nuclear fall out and the effect of radiation on the planet for the next 100-years. All the experts have warned against a nuclear solution to the growing problem in the Middle East. But take a look at some recent pictures of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Apparently this was in 2010. Imagine how many more young people there are now in America, Europe, Africa and Australia who share this sentiment?  Do you still believe Islam is a peaceful religion?
